About Us Renewing Life Participants Volunteers Support Pathways Publications Resources

Pathways is a non-profit, volunteer-sustained organization that provides programs and an environment designed to support a creative healing response for people with life-threatening illness and urgent health problems. The center offers to these persons, and their families and caregivers, an opportunity to address emotional issues, to explore a range of healing techniques, and to discover that both living and dying can encompass peace, hope and dignity. The center is supported by people who volunteer their services and kindnesses, and, in so doing, participate in their own self-healing.

Pathways recognizes that emotional support, mediation, imagery, and attitudinal factors contribute to the healing process for individuals in a health crisis.

Pathways believes that identifying fears, defining hope, and regaining control moves people towards a deeper understanding of life. Pathways' purpose is to provide opportunities for participants to examine the possibilities of their healing in a safe, warm, creative, and nurturing environment. Even when physical recovery is remote, healing can occur at the physiological, emotional and spiritual levels.

Participants

Our services include educational classes on mind/body/spirit approaches to healing, stress-reduction, emotional support, grief, and many others.

"Renewing Life™" and "Choices" are key programs which offer the opportunity for a more comprehensive exploration of mind/body/spirit healing approaches while utilizing group support over a six or eight week series.

"Sharing the Journey" is a weekly on-going support group. A variety of art experiences are offered. Imagery, meditation, yoga, tai chi, qiqong, dance/movement and other whole-person healing practice groups encourage participants to develop on-going skills that support a healing journey. Limited one-on-one bodywork sessions are provided which include massage, acupressure-based techniques and healing touch or other energy-based therapies.

Healing Circle

Pathways is always looking for ways to improve access to our sessions and resources.

Vivianne Hanke, a Healing Circle facilitator, delivers smooth, calm, thought-provoking recorded meditations. Meditations are frequently used during the weekly Healing Circle session at Pathways. These 12 to 40 minutes audio meditation sessions are available on this page >>.

The Healing Circle is for those interested in self-healing through spiritual connection through ritual, healing practice, and meditation.

Please feel free to drop in to take part in the Healing Circle.
