Pathways Participant Responsibilities

The educational services of Pathways are aimed at empowering the individual to discover within themselves ways to support their healing journey, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Healing is the responsibility of the participant, not the Provider. As part of a healing path, Pathways’ participants have the following responsibilities:

Be responsible for your healing path.

  1. Continue medically prescribed treatments.
  2. Commit to increasing your awareness that healing comes from within with the support of others.
  3. Take self-responsibility for your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. Pathways is a resource for you explore and discover your own individual healing path.

Be responsible for scheduling and participating in Pathways services.

  1. Read and follow Pathways’ Scheduling Procedures as outlined in the bi-monthly bulletin. Notify Pathways with any address changes as soon as possible.
  2. Confirm all appointments and classes within one (1) to four (4) days.
  3. Be present for your one-on-one appointments and group sessions. Contact Pathways with as much notice as possible when you must cancel an appointment or group session.
  4. Arrive on time for your one-on-one appointments and group sessions. If unavoidable delays occur, notify Pathways. Arrival more than 15 minutes late may result in cancellation of your one-on-one appointment or exclusion from a group session.
  5. Respect the time limits established by a Volunteer Provider, whether in a one-on-one appointment or during a group session.

Treat Pathways – building and supplies - with respect.

  1. Respect the need of all Pathways’ participants to use the telephone and limit your use as appropriate. Lengthy, personal telephone conversations should be avoided.
  2. The office equipment at Pathways is dedicated to supporting Pathways’ mission. It is not available for personal use.
  3. The coffee, tea and water provided is for your support while participating at Pathways. Limit its use for when you are at Pathways.

Treat Pathways staff, volunteers and other participants with respect

  • Respect the healing process of other Pathways’ participants through conformance to the Pathways Smoke and Scent Free Policy within Pathways’ building and on Pathways property.
