Pathways' Scent Free Policy

This Scent Free policy is necessary due to the significant health risk to participants who are chemically sensitive, or who have compromised immune systems.

The following are banned within the building and property:

1. The use or scent of perfume, cologne and/or essential oils;
2. The application of any body products while at Pathways except
   fragrance-free lotion provided by or approved by Pathways; and
3. Smoking and tobacco products.

In order to be compliant, no application of perfume, cologne and/or essentials oils should be made to your body, hair, and/or clothes for twenty-four (24) hours prior to your attendance at Pathways. The attention and cooperation of all Pathways participants to eliminate the scent of fragrances and smoke and/or the after effects of smoke on body, hair and clothes will be greatly appreciated. There is some evidence that scents can be toxic to anyone.

The Pathways building was constructed in 1993 with concern for air quality and user sensitivity. Pathways uses green cleaning products.

Those who are non-compliant will leave as opposed to those adversely affected.

The policy applies to the entire property. This means no smoking and/or application of any body product anywhere on our property including the front walks, the back stairs and walks, and the parking lot.

All are encouraged to become educated about the toxic chemicals in all scented products including after-shave, shampoo, conditioner, soap, make-up, deodorant, chapstick, hair gel, hair spray, laundry products and dryer sheets/fabric softener.
